Meet Jessica, a Director of Online Protection Programs with a passion for advocacy!
Jessica Leslie (she/her/ella) has over 18 years of experience leading transformative global and national programs. A passionate advocate, she has focused her career on preventing and addressing gender-based violence, advancing LGBTQIA+ rights, and promoting gender equality. Jessica is currently the Director of Online Protection Programs at ChildFund International where she leads strategy and implementation for global initiatives to enhance online safety and prevent online sexual exploitation and abuse of children (OSEAC) across ChildFund’s 20+ country offices. Prior to ChildFund, Jessica was the Head of Clinical Operations for Latin America at the Trevor Project, where she launched and led the crisis services operations in support of LGBTQIA+ youth in the region. Before that, Jessica served as Vice President of Victim Services at RAINN after having been the Director of the National Sexual Assault Hotline.
Jessica is also deeply committed to supporting local social justice efforts. She has served on the board of Shepherd’s Table, an organization based in Silver Spring, MD that provides meals, social services, medical support, and housing assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty, fostering hope and dignity in the community. She also previously served on the Victim Services Advisory Board for Montgomery County, Maryland as a political appointee. The board advocates for the needs of crime victims, advises local government on policies and services, and works to enhance support and resources for victims within the community.
She holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University (SAIS), a Graduate Certificate in Law from Sciences Po Paris, a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from the University of Washington, and a Nonprofit Executive Management Certificate from Georgetown University.
Jessica is both Peruvian & American, and speaks English, Spanish, and French. A Tacoma native, she lives in her hometown and is the proud mama of three kids.
