Joanne Levy goes by she/her pronouns and is a LGBTQIA+ leader, executive, and creative strategist with over two decades of experience using the power of community, storytelling, and innovation to drive inclusive change. Throughout her career, she has championed queer visibility, gender inclusivity, and equitable access to arts, wellness, and health—across nonprofits, global media, and grassroots movements.
As Executive Director of the Greater Seattle Soccer League, Joanne transformed the organization into a hub for belonging—introducing the league’s first nonbinary and women’s divisions, rebuilding board governance with equity at the core, and expanding community reach to over 4,800 players. Her leadership helped redefine what inclusive recreational sports can look like.
At Gage Academy of Art, she lead large scale events, marketing & launched Gage 360, a digital learning platform that ensured continued access to arts education during the pandemic. She also helped develop and grow the Teen Arts Studio, a brave and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ youth to create, connect, and be seen.
Her national impact includes her tenure as Chief Operations Officer at FCancer, where she led a globally recognized rebrand, launched LGBTQIA+-focused merchandise campaigns, and created self-sustaining event models that raised millions for health equity and early cancer detection, prevention & psychosocial support—especially in queer and marginalized communities.
Joanne’s earlier work at Viacom (MTV, LOGO, VH1, Nickelodeon, etc.) & BMG further reflects her lifelong commitment to visibility and cultural change. She helped drive multi-platform campaigns for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in mainstream media, developed patented marketing technology, and partnered with artists and media platforms to amplify queer voices.
A patent holder, community organizer, and proud queer advocate & woman, Joanne combines operational excellence with deep empathy and fearless creativity. She is passionate about building programs, businesses & spaces—digital, artistic, and physical—where LGBTQIA+ individuals feel empowered, safe, and celebrated.
Joanne holds a B.A. in English and Business from Mount Holyoke College and an Art History certificate from Temple University. She is a single mom of a beautiful daughter, dog mom and bunny mom who lives in Lake Tapps, Washington. She finds joy in connecting communities, nature, sports, and creating futures where everyone belongs.
