Dr. Misty Gibson (she/her) is a licensed mental health counselor, AASECT-certified sex 
therapist, and the founder of FlowArt Therapy—a group practice that centers the mental health 
needs of queer, neurodivergent, non-monogamous, and kink-affirming adults. She holds a PhD 
in Counselor Education and Supervision and teaches in graduate counseling programs, training 
future therapists to provide inclusive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive care. Her work is 
grounded in the belief that healing, pleasure, and authenticity are powerful tools of resistance 
for marginalized communities. 
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Misty is the creator of Untamed Ember, a 
multimedia platform and podcast that blends science, somatics, and social justice to help people 
reclaim their erotic identities and challenge cultural shame. Through Untamed Ember, she offers 
education, storytelling, and community resources that center queer liberation, embodied 
healing, and pleasure activism. She is honored to serve on the Board of Directors at The 
Rainbow Center and is deeply committed to advancing equity, empowerment, and belonging for 
the LGBTQ2SA+ community in Tacoma and beyond.
